Why We Have Made a Bequest to Pingree

Jane Blake Riley ’77, P’05 and Tom Riley P’05

When people ask me, why give so much of your time and resources to Pingree, especially when I was president of the Board of Trustees and practically lived at the school, I have an easy answer: Pingree changed my life. I came to Pingree in the fall of 1974 as a sophomore in high school, a good, but not particularly excited, student. Pingree ignited my intellectual curiosity and set me on the pathway to becoming a lifetime learner.

My husband Tom has enthusiastically supported Pingree right along with me, and our daughter Page, a member of the Class of 2005, is a current member of Pingree’s Alumni Leadership Board. Love of Pingree runs in the Riley family. We hope someday that our grandchildren will attend Pingree.

We have left a bequest in our will for the school because we believe in the power of what Pingree does for young adults.
